How to get there
We are grateful you are willing to make the trip to come celebrate with us! Vermont is not an easy destination to travel to, but its unadulterated natural beauty makes the trip worth it.
Planes
Burlington, Vermont (BTV) is the closest airport; it is 1.45 hours north of Woodstock (it is likely the most expensive option). You can also fly into Hartford, Connecticut (BDL) or Boston, Massachusetts (BOS), both of which are a 2.5 hour drive south of Woodstock. Montreal (YUL), is 3.5 hours north, not including border-crossing time.
Trains
If traveling along the Eastern Seaboard, you might consider taking Amtrak’s Ethan Allen Express to Rutland (RUD) and renting a car for the weekend. The Red Barn is 35 minutes east of Rutland.
Automobiles
We recommend renting a car. Google Maps works well in the area.
Note: Car rental prices are quite high if picking up from Boston Logan Airport, but prices are much lower if picking up from an off-airport location. Therefore, you can save money if you are willing to take a rideshare or public transportation to and from an off-airport car rental location.
Public Transportation
Regrettably, the public transportation system in Vermont is practically non-existent. If you need a ride to the festivities, please let us know and we will work to connect you with another guest traveling to Woodstock.
Day of Shuttle
We plan to have a shuttle for guests staying along Route 4 in the Woodstock area. It will collect guests before the ceremony and return to their accomodations after the reception. It is important to us that everyone gets home safely!
