Our plan for keeping you healthy
We are so grateful you are willing to make the trip to Vermont to celebrate with us. We believe clear communication about our safety measures will help us all enjoy ourselves more fully during this period of transition out of the pandemic!
We are dedicated to doing what we can to make everyone feel comfortable, though there is always some risk when gathering even with high vaccination rates.
Please let us know if there are other safety measures that would make you feel more comfortable.
Vaccination:
We are happy to report that 90 percent of our guests are fully vaccinated.
More than 80 percent of Vermonters are vaccinated. As of June 15, Vermont lifted all COVID-19 restrictions.
Not all of our guests are able to get vaccinated. We will provide rapid COVID test kits for our unvaccinated guests. We have selected this option to ensure guest comfort, accuracy, and the timely provision of results.
Masks:
We understand we cannot fully predict how we will feel once we are in a large group for the first time in over a year. Should you feel uncomfortable, we will have masks available. You are welcome to bring your own. Please wear a mask if one will make you feel more at-ease.
Venue:
The venue is a 110-year-old barn. The barn doors and windows will be open with fans on so there will be ample natural ventilation. The reception will flow inside and outside the barn.
Event Flow Information:
The ceremony will be outside (weather permitting) with dispersed seating and plenty of space to stand if the idea of sitting near others makes you feel uncomfortable.
If it is raining, the ceremony will take place on the top floor of the barn. If being inside during the ceremony will make you uncomfortable, please bring an umbrella. Fingers crossed for sun!
The cocktail hour will be outside with plenty of space for social distancing. There will be stationary appetizers.
The dinner will be inside the barn. It will be served buffet style, which is regarded by many caterers as the safest means of serving food during the pandemic. Guests will be seated at large tables and the seating arrangement will be guided by the preferences you expressed when you RSVPed.
The official dance floor will be inside, but you are welcome to boogie wherever you would like. There’s nothing like dancing in the grass under the stars.
Shuttle:
Our shuttle driver will keep windows open when transporting guests.
Childcare Facility:
We are hosting childcare on site in a small barn; the windows and doors will be open to maximize airflow.
Post-Wedding Communication:
If you test positive for COVID-19 after the wedding, we ask that you let us know so we can communicate with all guests about their possible exposure.
